Developer

Our client in logistics and travel is looking for a developer to join their team. The role is planned to start in May and the first contract to last until the end of the year. Work may be performed remotely yet a few days a month on-site presence in Helsinki is expected. Fluent English skills are required but Finnish language skills are a plus.

The client has two closely related development projects planned. One shorter (3 months)  and the other significantly longer. They are planning to re-design their software platform / infrastructure on which their passenger information system runs on.  The cloud environment and infrastructure development is outsourced, but new component and integration development is done in house.

The right candidate is experienced enough to take on this slightly exotic development environment and is capable of learning industry specific requirements required here.  Moreover specific tech choices have not been made so it is up to the consultant to suggest reasonable solutions and frameworks.

Technologies in use at the moment:

-Linux environment

-Docker containers

-AWS, especially Lambdas

-Coding languages Python, Java, Node.js

 

The requirement is to have experience with coding in a Linux environment and familiarity with containerization and AWS. The specific technologies to be used is negotiable (Container technology, coding language etc). 

Previous experience of the following industry specific technologies are a plus:

-ITxPT

-GPSd

-Embedded systems

-Network infrastructure (incl. network connection challenges)
