Our customer is looking for an experienced Java Developer to join their team.
The role involves a combination of backend development and recurring mass update runs, which typically account for about 50% of the monthly workload. The consultant should have a natural interest in working with big data and be comfortable with processes that require patience, precision, and analytical thinking.
Work tasks
Work tasks
- Mass updates 50% of time: about 5–10 runs per month, ranging in size from a few hundred up to several hundred thousand contracts (each contract may include multiple services and campaigns). During the previous month population of each mass update is evaluated, scripts changed or written, tests executed and analyzed (together with business and testers)
- Other development work 50% of time: Fullstack E2E Java development tasks
Key requirements
- Strong experience with SQL and Java
- Interest in handling big data and mass updates
- Pedantic, patient, and analytical mindset
- Good collaboration skills, as the work involves interaction with development teams, business stakeholders, billing partner, DBAs, and external support
- Fluent English (Finnish preferred but not mandatory)
Considered an advantage
- Knowledge of R (mass update tools are internally written in R)
- Experience with scripting (e.g., Shell)
- flexibility with working hours, as mass updates can take a long time and may require supervision during evenings, early mornings, or weekends (working on these hours is negotiable)
Location & work setup: working on-site at the customer in Helsinki (to be defined if a hybrid model is an option)
