Our client is looking for highly experienced Lead AI/ML Engineer to take ownership of their AI Hub and production ML/AI systems. This strategic role involves guiding the design, implementation, and operationalization of machine learning models, ensuring reliable deployment and smooth handover from data science to production. You will be the bridge between data scientists and engineers, helping to enable advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions across our business.

- Oversee and own the architecture and operation of our AI Hub (cloud-based, supporting AI/ML governance and deployment)
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineering, and business stakeholders
- Transition models from lab to production, ensuring robustness, monitoring, and maintainability
- Drive best practices in ML Ops and AI Ops (hosting, monitoring, retraining, etc.)
- Evaluate, integrate, and optimize new AI/ML solutions, including both traditional ML and GenAI/Agentic
- Mentor and support team members, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence
Your Skills & Experience
- Proven experience with ML Ops/AI Ops pipelines and toolchains
- Proficient in Python and experience with cloud-based AI/ML solutions (Azure preferred)
- Hands-on experience with data engineering and large-scale ML model deployment
- Deep understanding of both ML and AI architectures (including generative AI)
- Familiarity with Azure, Snowflake, MCP servers, and API-driven integrations
- Ability to work cross-functionally and mentor both engineers and scientists
- Excellent communication skills—especially in cross-cultural and interdisciplinary teams
- High level of self-direction, ownership, and resilience in demanding environments
- Fluency in English; strong interpersonal skills
The work would start flexibly during the first quarter of 2026, and this is a full-time, long term position. The client prefers working once a week or once every two weeks at the Helsinki office!
