In this role, you will:
- Own data warehouse development and data modeling end-to-end on GCP — BigQuery, Cloud Composer, SQL, and newly-introduced Datastream pipelines — turning raw data into clean, well-modeled datasets for reporting and analytics teams.
- Work primarily with sales, customer (both consumer and corporate), financial/accounting, and network/call-data records — the organization's core commercial data.
- Bring a fresh, senior perspective to a team whose data modeling and pipeline practices are still rooted in an on-premise mindset — helping shift the way pipelines and models are built, including making good use of AI-assisted development where it helps.
- Pick up the work that follows a large-scale (lift-and-shift) cloud migration project, moving the environment from "migrated" to properly optimized, well-architected GCP data infrastructure.
- Collaborate closely with the adjacent reporting/analytics team and the platform engineering team, without owning report or dashboard building yourself — your scope is squarely the warehouse and modeling layer.
You will thrive if:
- You have deep, senior-level experience with the GCP data stack — BigQuery, Cloud Composer/Airflow-style orchestration, Python, SQL, and ideally Datastream or comparable CDC/streaming ingestion tools.
- You have a strong data warehousing and data modeling background, and enjoy challenging established (often legacy/on-premise-rooted) ways of working with better, more modern and AI-augmented practices.
- You can work independently and confidently in a live, evolving environment, picking up context quickly and finding productive, useful work even before every dependency is fully in place.
- You're comfortable working in English day to day; Finnish is a plus, especially useful for business-side conversations.
- You're available onsite roughly 3 days a week (flexible) at the customer's Helsinki office.
