In this role, you will:
- Validate and refine the PostgreSQL and TimescaleDB architecture for a large-scale self-hosted IoT data platform.
- Define high-availability, disaster recovery, backup, recovery, partitioning, retention, compression, and indexing strategies.
- Analyze ingest and query workloads to guide capacity planning, performance tuning, and long-term scalability decisions.
- Support deployment, migration, testing, and production-readiness activities with hands-on database expertise.
- Contribute to operational planning, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrade best practices.
You will thrive if:
- You have deep experience in PostgreSQL administration and architecture within production environments.
- You are confident designing self-hosted database platforms with strong availability, recoverability, and operational requirements.
- You bring practical expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and Linux-based server environments.
- You can communicate architectural decisions clearly and produce high-quality technical documentation.
- You have experience with TimescaleDB, time-series platforms, and PostgreSQL HA technologies such as Patroni, PgBouncer, or similar solutions.
